Three quiet promises behind every product.

  • Tested on our own pets

    Every prototype lives with the housemates for weeks before it ships. If it can survive George, it can survive your house.

  • Backing rescues

    We plan to support rescues and adoptions as we grow. We are still choosing who; we will name them before launch, and not a day before we are sure.

  • Ten corduroy colours

    The beds come in ten colours, from Crimson to Pistachio, picked to either disappear into your living room or quietly run it.

Why we started

Built in a real living room, by people with real hairy housemates

Hairy Housemates began in 2024 with Mary and Patrick, two founders and five animals who were never quiet about what they wanted. We were tired of beds that looked like medical equipment and gave up after a month.

So we made our own. Corduroy beds, designed in Canada, in ten colours we actually wanted to live with. Every one is tested by Toby, Wonton, George, Fish and Jack before it leaves the studio, and they are a hard crowd.

We are a small team. We answer our own emails. We build for the kind of home where the dog gets the sofa and you get the floor.
